Free 8D Audio Maker & Spatial Panner

Make a song or a recording travel in a circle around the listener's head. Listen on headphones; your file never leaves your device.

Online 8D Audio & Auto-Panner Tool

8D audio is the name the internet gave to music that seems to move around your head. Behind the name is a simple recipe: the sound is panned in a slow circle between the left and the right ear, changed slightly while it is behind you, and placed in a room with reverb.

What Can You Set in the 8D Audio Maker?

  • Rotation time: how many seconds one full circle takes, from 3 to 30. Around 8 seconds feels calm; shorter is more dramatic.
  • Width: how far the sound moves to each side. At 100% it travels completely into one ear; lower values keep it closer to the center.
  • Front and back: makes the sound slightly darker and quieter on the far half of the circle, which the ear reads as passing behind the head.
  • Reverb: adds a small room around the moving sound, so that it feels placed in a space.

What 8D Audio Is and Is Not

An 8D track is an ordinary stereo file with two channels. There are no eight dimensions, and no special player is needed, only headphones of any kind: on loudspeakers both ears hear both sides, and the movement mostly disappears. The effect is built from level differences between the ears, a change of tone and reverb. It does not measure your head or simulate a full 3D room, so the sense of front and back is a hint, not a precise position. How the ears locate sound is explained in How to Make 8D Audio Online.

Who Is It For?

Listeners who want an 8D version of their own music for relaxing or focusing, creators making immersive videos and ambience, and producers who want an automatic pan on a single element, such as a synth pad or an effect, before it goes back into a mix. If you only want slower, dreamier audio, the Slowed + Reverb Maker is the better tool.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is 8D audio?

It is stereo audio in which the sound moves in a circle around the listener's head. The effect comes from automatic panning between the left and the right ear, a change of tone when the sound is behind, and reverb. The name is a label, not a number of dimensions.

Do I need headphones for 8D audio?

Yes, but any pair will do. The effect depends on each ear hearing only its own channel. On loudspeakers both ears hear both channels, and most of the movement is lost.

Why is the 8D version quieter than the original?

When the sound is panned fully to one side, that channel carries the whole signal and can exceed the maximum level. The tool lowers the level of the whole file just enough to prevent clipping, and tells you by how much.
